Chickens are mostly thought of as farm animals, as great as this bird is for providing food to mankind there is more to this creature. There are a multitude of kinds of chickens and such a creature makes a good pet.
The hen and rooster represents Yin and Yang, masculine and feminine. The chicken takes into teaching of this balance, of the two.
The power of teaching and knowledge is amazing, it allows knowledge to be passed on and thus be used for great uses. The chicken also teaches of this power, of its usefulness.
The chicken totem teaches to be of social situations. It may be disliked or unwanted, but it is useful for finding friends, lovers, and even jobs. Help can be gained from a variety of people, and being able to get help stems from being social. It just isn’t about chatting to pass time.
