Danu is the Irish mother goddess and a goddess of fertility. Danu;s name means "The Flowing One" and she is also known as Brigantia in northern England. She is also given assoication with a group known as Tuatha de Dannan (The Children of Danu), whom some says that these people are actual descendants of Danu.
She has many symbols, including the horse, seagulls, fish, amber, gold, royalty, crowns, rivers, seas, the earth, the moon, air, wind and keys. Danu is also considered the most ancient of the Celtic deities. She is said to be the mother and daughter of the god Dagda.
