Epacris impressa is a shrub known commonly as Common
Hearth. It has flowers that grow throughout the year, especially within spring.
Birds are attracted to these tubular and light pink flowers. The leaves are
small and spear shaped.
The common hearth grows in full sun with well drained and
acidic soil. It can grow in sand, loam and clay. There is some adaptability
with common hearths but it can be difficult to grow. Transplanting is sadly
difficult with this plant.
